Unexpected update of the rating of the most expensive cars ever sold at auction occurred.
This happened last week when the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for $32.1 million privately in Britain to anonymous buyer from Spain.
This puts it between the first and second places of the rating due to the fact that exact price of the previous champion (1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic) is actually unknown but evaluated at the level $30-40 million.
The interesting fact is that its former owner bought it for $25 million three years earlier. Doing easy math will lead us to the conclusion that he earned $7 for just 3 years of keeping it safe and dry in his garage.
